New for our Women in Wales Journey: An artsy gathering at the inspiring and cozy home of Alice van der List, owner of All in One Season. https://www.allinoneseason.co.uk/about-us I met her at Fforest Farm in Wales in 2018. Captivated by her abundant gifts in floral design and hospitality, I had the chance to visit her at her VERY SPECIAL home north of London in 2024. Immediately we started to dream of how we could collaborate to give YOU the chance to enjoy her spaces and talents. We have a brilliant two days planned for you!
JUNE 8, DAY ONE: Make your way from St. Pancras Station London less than an hour train to Letchworth Garden City. We'll be staying nearby at Letchworth Hall Hotel https://letchworthhall.uk-hotel.info/ within reach of The Dutch House, Alice's home. Meet everyone for a shared dinner at a local restaurant. Our time together will be fluid based on the weather, foraging materials and the timing of meal prep and dyeing/ laundering our creations. Keeping that in mind, read on for what we will be doing together!
June 9, DAY TWO: A sumptuous welcome breakfast will be spread at The Dutch House when we arrive. Depending on the weather, we will gather at the outdoor dining area, or indoors at the gorgeous table. After breakfast we will get acquainted with the location, studios and offerings. We'll engage in day long floral workshop using dried and foraged materials. Being mindful of design you'll create something truly special from nature's - given. Alice works magic and you'll be part of that as you craft something unique to be shipped back home. LUNCH and DINNER are included as part of the experience. We will have a chance to forage food on a local outing and cook over the open fires together. Expect to marvel at the results!
June 10, DAY THREE: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will again be part of our experience with Alice! You'll be well fed and able to try new foods and cooking techniques.We can begin the day with some mindfulness practices, light stretching and yoga for those who wish to participate. Today we will try our hand at botanical fabric dyeing and printing! Using foraged materials plus items that Alice knows work for this technique, we will dive into this art form. Our finished pieces can be embellished with embroidery or you might decide to thrift some clothing for printing. Curiosity and the ability to admire unexpected results will be good to bring along :) You will have time for conversation and lounging as well as deciding on other smaller projects while we enjoy these spaces together.
